THE ART EXPERIENCE
Have you ever wondered, “What does art do?” We all have experienced original art in some form or another; in museums, galleries, movies and books. Many say that art is the pinnacle of creativity, yet some of us just don’t feel it! What if you could turn viewing art into a font of new ideas for your business or your life? Join creativity expert and arts professional Anthony Billoni in a pilot that will guide you toward a personal and fruitful experience with art. Billoni is a graduate of the International Center for Studies in Creativity at Buffalo State College and wrote his masters thesis on generating new and original ideas in a museum setting. He has successfully tested and presented parts of this process over the last ten years in various settings, including Buffalo, NY, Midland, MI and Kassel, Germany.
Two 2-hour sessions (approx) at the beautiful new Burchfield-Penney Art Center (BPAC). Session One will introduce two new methods of experiencing art. Session Two will build on experiences from session one and introduce a third method to connect with art in a more personal way. Anthony will facilitate companion learning experiences using tools and techniques from the Creative Problem Solving Process. The goal of this experience is for you to have a deeper personal connection to art. You will be comfortable with your own impressions gleaned during your museum visit. You will also take away a basic understanding of the creative problem solving process and use the tools and techniques to capture and process your impressions, further personalizing your art experience. This new experience can lead to improved problem solving skills and a broader positive perspective on important challenges at work and in your life.
You will be asked to complete short questionnaires before and after the sessions to help with the continued improvement of this experience. There is no cost; however if you are not a member of the BPAC, there will be a nominal admission fee. Space is limited to ten participants. To join, contact Anthony at anthony@artdiary.net.
